Special Launch Issue
Fuel Up To Play 60Questions? We have five Training Camp Clips to get you started! This Special Issue of the Fuel Up to Play 60 eNewsletter includes important reminders about the program Launch on October 15!

FuelUpToPlay60.com Launches October 15 Don't Be Blocked!

Make sure you're "white listed"! Some school computer networks may inadvertently (and automatically) "block" the FuelUptoPlay60.com website as a "gaming" site. Talk to your IT/Technology Coordinator before the full site launches on October 15 to make sure both www.FuelUptoPlay60.com and www.FuelUpToPlay.com are accessible to students and teachers in your school!

Another important tip: While you may have been using the www.SchoolWellnessKit.org web site to enroll yourself and your school, view some Training Camp Clips, and download the PA Announcements and other in-school marketing tools, the FuelUpToPlay60.com web site will be the new hub of the Fuel Up to Play 60 program - that's where your students register and track their points for the Fuel Up to Play 60 National Competition, and where you and your School Team find the detailed Kickoff, Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Action Strategies. And lots more! You'll still be able to access the great stuff on the SchoolWellnessKit.org site, but it's critical that all enrolled schools have access to FuelUpToPlay60.com and FuelUpToPlay.com so that when the Competition kicks off at midnight on October 15, you are ready to roll.

So don't delay - talk to your IT/Technology Coordinator today - or better yet, send him or her this eNewsletter! Maybe they want to join your Fuel Up to Play 60 team, too!

Build a Level Playing Field. Give All the Kids a Chance to Win!

To participate in the National Competition, your students earn points by tracking their healthy eating, physical activity and other support for your school's Fuel Up to Play 60 program. All of that tracking takes place on the web site. So, for students with limited internet access, you can help them stay in the game by giving them the Paper Tracker (you can print a copy here) to keep track of their activities all week. Then, they only need to access the web site once a week to log their activities.

For students who may not have home access to a computer, when it's time to track their points (once a week) let them know they can:

  • Head to the nearest public library or community center and sign up to use one of the computers
  • Ask a school librarian if they can use the library computer before school, during lunch or after school. They can even ask if their school library would be willing to set aside a certain time each day to encourage fellow students to track their progress
  • Ask their computer teacher if they can use the computer lab before school, during lunch or after school
  • Ask a friend if they can use their home computer for a few minutes after school and even encourage them to track their own healthy behaviors online, too
  • If there are computers in their classrooms, ask a teacher if tracking can be done during class time

More than 35,000 School Wellness Activation Kits have already been shipped, and more are going out every day! So keep your eyes peeled for your own kit to show up soon!

You can also check your kit's shipping status and see who else in your school has signed up to help activate Fuel Up to Play 60.
