The new Fuel Up to Play 60 website is live, the National Competition is in motion, and students across the country are tracking their healthy behaviors! Make sure your Fuel Up to Play 60 School Team is moving down the field toward your school wellness goals! Here's your checklist for November - are you on track?
 1st Down: Build Your Team
First, name a Program Advisor for your Fuel Up to Play 60 program. That could be you, or another adult(s) in your school. Then invite other adults and students to join in, and your School Team is officially kicked off!
See who else in your school has already enrolled for Fuel Up to Play 60, or invite colleagues to join your team by signing up for this eNewsletter. You can do all of that here.
Find tips for building your school team in the Playbook area on FuelUpToPlay60.com.
Log in to the Program Advisor resource area for help on designing and managing your program.
2nd Down: Make Sure Your Students Are Registered
Why should students register at FuelUpToPlay60.com? Because that's where they pledge to eat healthier and move more, track their progress toward healthy eating and physical activity, and earn points (for themselves and for your school) toward the National Competition, and more.
To register, students enter a user name and password and take the Pledge. (We do not collect email addresses or other personal information.)
When students log-in, they see their personal Tracker (where they log their healthy activities) and their Scoreboard (where they see their points and state/national ranking).
Although you don't have your own persoal Tracker or Scoreboard (sorry, that's just for the kids!), you can see what the kids see by going to Student Login and entering the word "Test" as your user name and password. It's very cool, so check it out!
See how many students have already registered and how your school ranks in the Competition - go to the Program Advisor area (in the Adults section) and click on School Management. While there, check to make sure your school's enrollment data is accurate.
3rd Down: Set Your School's Action Strategy Goals
There are three types of Action Strategies in Fuel Up to Play 60, and your School Team should implement one of each: Promotion/Kick Off, Healthy Eating, and Physical Activity. Just go to the Playbook at FuelUpToPlay60.com to find a detailed menu of fun, focused ideas for each category. Then work with the students on your School Team to identify the Action Strategies you want to implement.
4th Down and Goal: Time for Students to Earn and Track Points
Students earn points for eating nutrient-rich foods, being physically active, referring friends, answering weekly challenges, participating in Fuel Up to Play 60 activities from the Playbook, and more. As they track, they score points for themselves and for your school. It's that simple!
If students don't have daily access to a computer, they can keep track of their points with this Paper Tracker and then enter their points online once a week.
